Weeds or wildflowers? Reclaiming space for our native plants

For me, the Many-flowered Fringe Lilly (Thysanotus multiflorus) has such sublime colour and form; it definitely stands out in our bushland. Picture: Ian Bell.

“Weeds or wildflowers? Reclaiming space for our native plants”. Our latest Heartland Journeys story, featuring Green Skills’ landcarer Peter Stewart, is a ripper. Peter’s connection to nature and his permaculture roots make him tick. During 20 years learning about our native plants an on-ground experience in managing environmental weeds, he has developed a fascinating philosophy to guide and motivate his work. Nominated by seven community groups for his environmental conservation work, Peter was awarded Albany’s Citizen of the Year in 2014. He continues to be a driving force through his work with Green Skills. Peter’s story is in the current Southerly Magazine (November edition) and it’s here on our Heartland Journeys website: https://heartlandjourneys.com.au/…/a-driving-force-on…/
