Fitzgerald River: Australia’s burning secret

Australian Geographic has published a post-fire story on the Fitzgerald River National Park and the nearby (but unprotected) Cocanarup salmon gum woodland, which is vital Carnaby’s cockatoo breeding habitat.

“Jesse Brampton, from Cocanarup Conservation Alliance, recently witnessed the destruction. ‘We walked into three of the prime nesting areas and it was much worse than I imagined – and I’m not starry-eyed in the first place,’ he says.”
