Carol Duncan
Finance / Admin Manager

Carol has spent the last 30 years working in a broad range of service industries covering admin, payroll and finance. She’s been involved in hands on roles in small to medium sized business providing support and implementing processes that enable staff to do their job better. The roles have been based mostly in remote or regional areas of Western Australia.

More recently Carol ran her own successful commercial photography business. Through this she became acutely aware of our changing climate which affected her work greatly. It became deciding factor to ‘refocus’ and contribute in some way to the protection of our dwindling natural environment. Gondwana Link presented a perfect opportunity to utilise her administrative and financial skills (and sometimes photography) to help both the environment and others to do that in a multitude of ways.

Carol’s main focus is finance and administration both organisationally and for projects. Working in a small team with very limited resources, Carol also draws on a multitude of skills learned over time such as training people how to use software apps, fix IT issues, graphic design for marketing, website updating. Working with a not-for- profit, being resourceful and able to wear many hats is also an obligatory requirement.

Carol’s skills have been used to assist fledgling Indigenous organisations set up and ongoing hands-on assistance in the administration, business compliance and financial requirements of a business.

Since being with Gondwana Link, supporting and facilitating the vision of ‘connecting nature … connecting people’ through her business skills can be challenging but also rewarding especially on projects where she can help people grow capacity to work independently and sustainably.

She’s proud to be a part of the Gondwana Link team and vision.
